Books are my passion, and I want to help you make yours shine! I work with fiction manuscripts of any length: novels, novellas, short stories, and flash fiction. All genres, topics, and themes are welcome. I will treat your work with the respect it deserves, and any corrections made to your manuscript will be done in a way that preserves your voice as the author.
I will provide a free three-page (about 750 words) sample edit for larger projects so you can ensure that my work will be a good fit for your project before committing. Contact me for information on pricing and delivery estimates.

I'm Shera and I graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M Central Texas with a B.A. in English. I have been an avid reader for most of my life and have always had a knack for finding spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors in writing. Even prior to earning my degree, I proofread documents for friends and family, but college allowed me to hone my skill to a professional level. I currently freelance for Grammarly's proofreading service, Proofit, on a regular basis. I have been a member of the American Copy Editors Society (ACES) since June 2020 and a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) since October 2020. I have experience editing a wide variety of documents, such as essays, letters, emails, product descriptions, transcripts, novels, blogs, and poems. I use the Chicago Manual of Style most often, but I also have a working knowledge of AP, MLA, and APA styles. I have experience editing in British and American English and have edited many documents for writers who speak English as their second language. I want to use my knowledge and skills to help you achieve your personal, professional, or academic goals!
Lilli Lehmann, author of The Arrival
"Shera did a fantastic job with proof-reading the manuscript of my book. Her work was high quality and she manages to get it done by the given deadline.
Her comments were very precise and understandable. With her ability to clearly express her thoughts, she helped me immensely with finding little plot holes and strengthen my story.
I liked receiving a clean copy and the edited work document, where I could follow her thought process and look and learn from the changes she made.
I was deeply impressed when she went back to the beginning to rechange a word which she disliked first but fitted better with the context of my story. I am looking forward to be working with Shera again."
